REPLASTIC: our PIR e PCR plastics
Replastic is the brand that distinguishes our fully recycled and recyclable materials. It is available in PET – Polyethylene Terephthalate, PP – Polypropylene and PEHD – High Density Polyethylene.
Our eco-sustainable proposal for the environment, 100% recycled and 100% recyclable: a second plastic material generated from existing plastics that has therefore, zero impact on the oil extraction process, necessary for virgin plastics.
Since 2018, the demand for recycled plastics has increased, a big signal of conscious change from our customers and a concrete support to the high standards of compliance and safety we demand from our suppliers.
Let’s see in detail the characteristics of the available REPLASTIC materials.
R-PET – Recycled Polietilene Thereftalate
PET derived from PCR (post consumer recycled), is a raw material obtained from consumer/end user waste that comes exclusively from European community waste, always processed in European recycling plants.
In this formulation recycled PET is Food-Grade, suitable for contact with food.
It is part of the polyester family. It is a rigid or semi-rigid plastic material, lightweight and naturally transparent. It is quite resistant to wear, impact and temperature changes. It is also the most widely used polymer in the beverage industry because of its perfect transparency and because it provides an excellent barrier against the penetration of moisture and gaseous substances.
R-PP – Recycled Polypropylene
PP derived from PCR (post consumer recycled), is a raw material obtained from consumer/end-user waste coming exclusively from the European community, always processed in European recycling plants.
In this recycled formulation, PP is not Food-Grade, therefore not suitable for food contact.
It is a thermoplastic polymer characterised by high tensile strength, low density (with its 900 kg/m³ is in fact one of the lightest), has a good thermal resistance, abrasion resistance and has a strong resistance to dynamic loads. It is one of the less expensive materials and easier to transform and/or work. It does not suffer from mechanical stress (that given, for example, by flip-top closures). It is resistant to wear and in general has a long durability.
R-PEHD – Recycled High Density Polyethylene
PEHD derived from PCR (post consumer recycled), is a raw material obtained from consumer/end-user waste coming exclusively from the European community, always processed in European recycling plants.
In this recycled formulation, PEHD is not Food-Grade, therefore not suitable for food contact.
Thermoplastic polymer belonging to the Polyolefin family. It is hard and opaque and can withstand extreme temperatures. It has excellent resistance to most chemicals, resists corrosion and dissolution of strong oxidisers, salts and solvents. Excellent impact resistance, it is fairly easy to process and/or work with.
